I used the Raymond Loewy design of the lucky strike design, which I learned is a cross section of a cigarette. I put my own little spin on it by cutting it in half to represent a cross section of a book when it is open.

This was a two page layout meant to introduce an article in a magazine. It is actually pretty interesting introduction. Notice how the monkey face mirrors the "M" on the opposing page.

The gradients of color are meant to convey the passing of time. The interlocking of the "C" and the "W" is representative of how tightly the gears and the intricate workings of a watch move together. The three gradients along the side of the letter head are not only decorative, but also where you are supposed to fold for business letters.

One of my favorite designers, hopefully this design would be up to his standards. I struggled with this, because of how familiar of an artist & designer he is. I looked up to Escher and his art before I knew I wanted to be an designer.

This client had an abundance of text, so I needed to pull the reader in with something  else. Ahhhh color will do it! One of the hardest things to work with for someone in the guerrilla design school of mind. This is indicative with conveying the strongest message with the least amount of text. The purple and baby blue draw your eye to the ad, while the gray color draws it to the top of the page.
